Willow's branches:
Blue and twisted threads.
Time and again, in spring
The ruffled flowers
Have unravelled.

My third duel, against ~wandering-ronin's Suiko Machie!

It's a special-themed duel: we picked out a poem and each interpreted it in our own way. The poem is about spring; new things growing, little, insignificant things becoming big things (like willow catkins growing into long, hanging threads of leaves). What better way to illustrate it than by having Zeta and Suiko create some new things of their own? A lump of clay might not look like much, but with a little time and effort it can become something beautiful.

Suiko, artist that she is, is shaping a lovely vase. Zeta really has no artistic ability whatsoever, but she still enjoys playing with the clay. Good thing it wasn't a pottery contest... ^^;

SDL is a shared universe and I own only some things in it.

Cameos!
`Endling's Ree makes a small appearance in one of Suiko's sketches pinned to the walls. Maybe she commissioned a portrait?

So, have you gone through art withdrawal yet? Because I think you must have a little by now. :XD:

Okay, on to the artwork.

IT'S PURTEH! And it looks really nice, too! Suiko looks so pretty, and Zeta is just so cute! And I like the contrasting shading between the foreground and the background. It makes the characters stand out more.

Okay, whoa. I've been hanging around my art teacher too much.

And I like the trees!! My favorite is the one behind Zeta.

:aww: How cute! Definitely the most non-violent duel I've ever seen!

So much art withdrawal. :faint:

Aside from the ridiculous amount of bloom, you mean? :XD: I figured since the poem was about willow trees, I should probably include one in there somewhere.

Oh wow, this is beautiful. You definitely got me beat for sure.
I'm just amazed by all the details that are in this; the sunlight through the window, the willow in the background, even all the folds in Suiko's outfit.
