The Sister Song

Another original melody I composed. In fact, it's my favorite so far! Composed with Printmusic. The instruments you hear are woodblock, flute, cello, violin, and jazz guitar.

I composed the first version of this song for piano. It was very simple, and I'm pretty sure a beginning piano student could play it. I do have sheet music for the piano version, if anyone's interested. However, the piano version of this song just didn't work out when I was converting it to MIDI, mainly because my computer isn't very good at synthesizing piano sounds. So I put some extra effort into it and came up with this orchestrated version, which I ended up liking even better than the original.

My good friend ~Blueflame91 gets all the credit for naming this piece. She was hanging out at my house a while back and I played an early, work-in-progress version of the piece on the piano for her to see what she thought. When I told her I didn't have a name for it yet, she suggested "The Sister Song", because the piano version of the piece made her think of two sisters sitting side by side on a piano bench and playing a simple duet for their piano teacher.

This melody is completely original and belongs to me, so please don't steal or "borrow" it without giving me credit as the composer and without first asking my permission.
